Charles Matton: 'Enclosure' at AVA annex

Having missed the initial 'Enclosure' exhibition in King's Cross last week (they closed it a day early and I had to come back home without success), I immediately emailed All Visual Arts and enquired whether they are holding another exhibition, and fortunately there was one, as part of Frieze Art Festival.

And what I encounter once inside surely didn't disappoint me after all that long journey, although it was impressive in a slightly different way to what I had anticipated - it wasn't the exuberant appearance of the models but the clever techniques used to make them possible that was more interesting:

And this one below was another great trick for the viewer:

The newspapers usually gives off hints as to who are the occupants of the rooms (like the one above, which shows the year when Sigmund Freud was forced to leave this office to escape from the Nazi persecution and to England), or sometimes, they just cheekily have a photo of Matton himself on the front page, like the ones below:

And this was the depiction of Matton's son -an accomplished pianist- playing accompanied by the recording of the actual song, and the way in which this was achieved was ever so impressive..:-) See if you can guess how!
