The Tragedy of Macbeth at The Scoop

이진이랑 28일에 보러갔던 야외공연!

The three witches, the main protagonists in this production, were amazing - very, very good acting..
It was remarkable to see the actors literally throwing themselves on the cemented ground despite the weather being really cold and most of them wearing thin clothes (One of the witches was wearing shorts and Lady Macbeth was only wearing lingerie at the beginning!)

It is because of people like these (they fund themselves) that the performance scene (and the Art scene, ultimately) in London still thrives... So anyone studying art in London OUGHT to go out and support them - it's part of our education, you know.. the government doesn't give millions of ££ to art organisations for nothing: they do so because studying in London is not just about attending lectures and getting good grades from school, but more about going out and taking opportunities that lay in every corner and alleyways around London.

Free open-air performances on the riverside.
This tale of murder, betrayal and ultimate downfall is presented with the witches played as children. The world of the play is their domain and everything in it is theirs to control, manipulate and play with, as "all is but toys."
With the characters dressed in primary colours and the design inspired by graphic novels by Frank Miller and Art Spiegelman, River Productions shows the dark inner workings of a child's mind in the form of the three weird sisters.
Using movement and physical theatre, sound and light, this interactive performance takes a fresh, new approach to one of Shakespeare's most popular stories.
"The Tragedy of Macbeth" further develops "Shakespeare Happens," a concept created by professional actor/director/producer and co-founder of River Productions, Laura Catherine Kressly, during her postgraduate training at the University of Exeter. [London SE1]
