L'Oréal Paris Men adverts. Even L'Oreal is changing with time?

This is the standard format of L'Oreal's adverts.
A sexy man/woman with sleek hair & gorgeous skin is shown leading a glamourous professional life in a highly stylised, flawless manner. And they shout 'You're worth it, you deserve to be like us!'
(Do these celebrities even use L'Oreal products? I doubt it, because as far as I've heard from countless reviews, it's not really 'worth it'.)

But now we have something like this:

Starring Hugh Laurie. By the way, he's not 45, he's 52.
(And more appealing than Gerald Butler, in my opinion.)

As well as featuring someone who is without doubt much more 'viewer-friendly' than suave Pierce Brosnan or the Spartan Butler (but nevertheless popular enough to promote this super-famous brand),
It has HUMOUR (and a very British one at that), something previously unseen in L'Oreal adverts.

And Hugh Laurie has a totally different type of glamour - he's a an OBE, was BORN in Oxford and attended Eton and Cambridge. If previous L'Oreal models had the kind of glamour that shouts 'No matter how much Revitalift you smudge on your face you won't ever LOOK like us', Laurie has the intellectual superiority than most people, something neither money nor oceans of Botox can't get for you.

Is this the beginning of a whole new approach to their adverts by L'Oreal, I wonder?
